The water filtered about her pale legs like a soothing wind. It cooled her hot pistons and almost let her relax. She was on edge, being alone for so long. She missed the safety of a herd, but knew that it was difficult to return to one she had left. She couldn't bring herself to do so and thus found herself here. It was her own fault, but she was too head strong to admit that to herself. So she was starting anew and thus she wandered here and listened to the wind as it played through the trees. The streams soft trickle easing her nerves and soothing her soul.
She snorted and eased herself out of the water. Shaking her pearly hide to erase the droplets from the surface of her canvas. She let out a shrill whistle, testing one more time, the wind for the scent of another. To be alone became interesting for only so long. The freedom she had was old and stale, she wanted the sanctuary of the herd again, and that was why she stood here, calling out on occasion, constantly, calling, looking... and dare she say, hoping?

The black stag stood aside, watching the flowing water with a soft gaze. Within it, stood a mare. Very obviously mare, if not by scent, than by shape. He preferred them dainty, really. Bulky mares tended to be the more annoying of the lot. Oh well, there was always one or two to break that pattern.. The wind whipped through his thick black mane as he watched her exit the stream, his attention unwavering as she shook the drops of water from her hide. This was the sort he wanted.. a beauty, even when she didn't know anyone was watching. He chuckled to himself, and picked up a swift, extended trot down towards her. He hoped she wouldn't run off, he didn't really enjoy the chase. He would win in the end, obviously, but it was easier on both of them if she would just stay put. Prehaps his thinking was... a bit arrogant, but who was going to correct him? None that he could see.
With a toss of his midnight head, he soon came upon her painted form, but didn't stop upon reaching her. Instead, he shifted down into a walk, and moved to circle around her. He wanted to take her in from every angle, to be sure that she was what she wanted. As he walked, he spoke, his voice showing no hint of self-question. No, he was certain she would go along with his offer. His arabian neck pulled into its stately arch, bred down through the generations, and exaggerated by his urge to be as impressive of a stag as possible. His footfalls became shorter, and each leg lifted a bit higher as he walked. He didn't know why, and he was certain he probably looked like an idiot. Somethings, he had long ago decided, were just out of one's control.
Ah, my speckled beauty. What brings you out here? And with no stallion in sight... Don't worry. I can mend that,
He chuckled to himself, low and cool, just as his speech was. His black gaze flicked to meet her eye, and watch for her reaction. Ooc: Blech! Bad post.

Auds didn't pick up teh stallion at first, but upon teh sound of dancing hooves she jumped, startled and her legs grew stiff and her nares expanded to their limits as they dragged in the sudden new scent. However, she danced a few paces away she did not upon immediate reaction flee. She was not like the deer, she did not run upon sight of another and the sight of another slightly flared hope. Though unnfortunately not enough to diminish her caution and she held her head up high, not in arrogence or pride, but in unsurety, prepared for a blow, but not really wanting one. She danced unsuredly. His words soon mixing in her mind, and his impressions did not prove aggressive. Slowly she relaxed and her legs became limber once more as her shoulders seemed to sag from the release of tension. Her breath coming easier now she seemed to cool off greatly, her heart ceasing its new found race. She replaced the startled look of one that was slightly ruffled.
He'd given her quite a scare and though ruffled and recovering, her voice still wavered slightly as she attempted to catch her breath; that which she'd gathered to prepare for flight. Wary, she began...
.:~*To be honest, i have no alliance as of yet*~:.
She spoke simply, careful to pick her words. She didn't want to inspark a rage. Stallion's were dangerous foes, she had no intent to go against one. She'd come here looking for one hadn't she? Just goes to show -- be careful what you wish for.

His eyes sparkled as she spoke, his gaze darting across her body once more. He was pleased to see her relaxing.. fear was an annoying trait to work with. He continued his revolution around her form, never taking his eyes off of her. No alliance, 'eh? He pulled up before her, pawing the earth in the appearance of impatience, though impatience for what exactally he was uncertain.
Of course you do. To me.
He tossed his head skyward, enjoying the way his forelock fell back across one eye. The back of his mind teased him relentlessly. Why be such an arrogant idiot when first meeting a mare? He shook his thoughts aside, and extended his neck to hopefully brush his muzzle across her form. To collect her scent more carefully, and to show a small amount of control over the situation.Very short. Sorry, low muse tonight. -kill'd-

ooc: as is mine, running low on fuel, must go after this post, ttyl bic: She snorted at the sound of his arrogance, but let his muzzle brush against her. She held no complaints as of yet. This meant nothing for her character, so what if she be willing to go with him. It did not mean she was weak or simple minded, to take the first stag to come across her; it meant she be smart. she was not one to let her hide be marked by the teeth of a stallion, why should she. When she oculd live within his protection and the protection of a herd. SHe would not ahve to be on edge, so much.
She snorted and shook her head to ward off the waves of her mane from her eyes, but made no sound to reject him, thus she showed her willingness to go and acceptance of his allaince. This to let him know she was his... but not his toy, she was still a creature of life and limb, and she wasn't to be walked upon, but she would go without complaint, without havoc.

Smart move, princess. Aros laughed to himself, and let his touch linger against her hide a moment more. For once, thankfully, she had been easy. Well.. easier. Why was it that so often these female beasts liked to play it hard? They lost in the end, it was inevitable. They wanted a herd, quite obviously, so why make it harder than it needed to be, when it so obviously was going to end up the same way no matter what they did? Oh well, it didn't matter truly, for this fae was being cooperative. The black stallion turned his head away suddenly, looking back over his dark shoulder to check for intruders. Prehaps, this time, he would be left alone. Well.. it couldn't hurt to dream. He returned his gaze to his new catch, and jerked his skull to the right, indicating the way they should go.
Our herdland is called Sciro's Spawn. We will go there, and there you shall live. Do not wander.
He turned without further question, powerful strides carrying him away from the crystalline flowing waters. One arabian ear turned back, to check that she was following, but his outward expression was one of full confidence.

At first she didn't follow. It was not as if she was rethinking her descision. She didn't know why she didn't follow upon command. Perhaps it was just the thought of her own rebellious mind, yet she had no ill will, nor stubborn traits to surface now and marr the strand of relationship that was so frail and fragile. She didn't quite know what made him tick. What made this stallion changed his emotions. She didn't know what made him angery, didn't know what set him off upon another. She didn't know what made him calm, nor did she knew what was acceptable or not to him. For now he was as unpredictable to her as the birds within the sky.
But soon she picked up her gait. A swift elegant royal lope, her spine bending with the rythm of her ebonies upon teh earth. Her knees bending in a smooth movement that carried her form like a ghost over the waters. Her heart picking up its pace to keep tune with her heaving breaths, that came smooth and calm. Expanded nares dragging in needed oxygen as well as ridding herself of recycled air.
She drew up beside him, and remained slightly behind, keeping her silence steady as she pulled back to a walk. Her head lowered down for a moment as she halted her graceful movements and matched his gait, smoothing - keeping tune with him.
He had her claimed, but he didn't have her alliegence in truth. In words he did, but she held no true trust in him yet... that would only develope with time. Was not a rejection by her character, but a caution of her instinct.
