They tell me to act my age || I tell them to shut up
The once bright green leaves had faded into a crisom brown, orange, yellow, red and anything in between. The soft, flowing creeks changed from that to a stone cold fast moving river. Seasons change, and so do minds. Thats what those idiot lead mares told their stallions once he brought home Mask. She looked good from far away, but then once you got to know her, it wasn't really something to look foward too. She always wanted to be the center of attention, and she always wanted to hate you or someone like you. She liked to pick a fight, and she liked to win that fight. She didn't like friends, and she saw no point in being friends. Mask was just your usual alone, sarcastic type mare that didn't care about the world. And thats jus tthe way that is is going to be. Snorting out of her nares, she picked up a slow trot, her eyes darting in every direction, trying to see what was coming, if anything at all. Her ears were alert, and trying to pick out any sound of anybody that would come to her, if anyone at all. She wasn't really the type that had stallions waiting on her hand and foot. She was more of a 'its the end of the day, oh look theres a mare lets go get it' type thing. She didn't mind. Because once they claimed her, she would escape, and go to a new home, and escape. Repeat if nessary. And usually, it was. She wasn't that great looking either. The light remains of a scar were across her eye, her right eye, the one that she couldn't see well in. She always hated that stallion...well now hes gone, and all she had was a stupid scar, and some bad eyesite. Oh yes, something to look foward to. Flapping her ears back she kept moving. Her tail flashing all of those stupid annoying flys away, making sure that she didn't leave much of a scent about. After all, the longer that she wasn't claimed, the longer she was free of those pesky stallions.
They told me I was mean and heartless || I told them that for once they're right
Well, she thought that she had reached those claiming grounds type things. She thought that she had reached it. But in fact, she wasn't that close at all. Grunting out of frustration. She quickened her pace, leaveing behind the sights and the memories of what was there. Looking around at the near by equines, she noted how happy they looked. Ugg, she wasn't going to have to deal with one of those places again, did she? There had to be some sort of darkish place or stallion around here, right? Again she grunted with frustration. And once again she picked up the pase, going into a canter. When she ran, all of her worries were left behind, it was her escape from a world that she didn't like so much. Her mane danced in the wind as she kept going, picking up speed as she went. Her head was lifted, her tail lifted as well. Snorting, she knew what this would lead to. She would go into one of of her happy moods again. And then someone would think that she was like this usually and ugg. Slowing down, she came to a trot, then a slow and collected walk. Her breath went from fast and quick, to slow and steady. Her mind once again regained those horrible thoughts and memory of her boring past, and she returned to her usual mood. Finally, the scent came to her. She was in those evil claiming grounds. Making sure that she didn't make a sound. She came to a halt. Her eyes and ears alert and wandering about. If some random guy was to come up to her, she would be ready.
He told me I was a one night thing || I told him he was never anything

Aros was taking in the land at a swift gait, each powerful stride pushing him farther and farther into the land. Atumn was falling upon them, and with it came the scents of a thousand deaths. Most creatures failed to pick up on this, really. But.. how many fallen leaves, how many smotherd grasses, how many frozen creatures died at this time of year? The smell, to some, was wonderful, crisp, clear, lovely and seasonal. To those who saw its true evils, Atumn was the season of death, of terror, slowly fading into the gray death of winter. As Aros cantered on, he reflected on this fact.. and decided without question that Atumn was his favorite season. The large area he was traversing was, supposedly, one in which mares might be found. Herds made, futures generated. Hah. Whoever said that had been quite an adept liar, for the black stag had seen nothing of any notable promise for quite some time. His breath began to fog in the air, as it grew hotter and more forceful from his extended run. Giving in to the acid generating in his muscles, Aros choppily transistioned downward, finally standing relaxedly, and apparently alone. He raised his shapely arabian head skyward, mane and tail whipping in the cool breeze. No, unfourtunately he still smelled... nothing. The black stag shook his head in frustration, and parted his jaws in a sharp cry into the wind. Echoing across the feild, through the treetops, shaking brids from their nests and setting the rodents to scurrying... just the way he liked it.
He gave his sweat-streaked form a shake after a moment, then lazily turned his gaze about the area. He had head nothing... so surely... but wait. What was this, then? His midnight eyes narrowed... suspiciously at first, then playfully. A mare, it appeared, being strangely quiet... interesting... He nearly whinnied to her, but decided against it upon realizing she had probably heard him the first time. Without hesitation, he pushed himself into a quick and extended trot, his previous tiredness suddenly forgotten. As he approached her feminine form, his black neck arched up slightly, his gait became slightly more... 'prancy'... a stallion showing off. It would have been funny, if he had seen another doing it. But, for his own purposes, there had never been anything more enticing. The nearer he came, the more interested was his gaze, the more pricked his ears, the more deep his breaths. That's it.. take in all of her scent.. memorize it.. He stopped a good twenty feet from her, knowing that some mares had the tendancy to either attack, or run, depending on which brand of annoying they intended to be that day. He called out, proud and strong, without waver no question in his tone.
The name's Aros! How fortunate you are to have been standing here while I passed. I'm sure you will not deny my offer of joining my herd and I/
And if she did... well, that could be taken care of when it happend.

They tell me I'm too smart for my own good || I tell them they're too dumb for their own good
She heard a break of a twig. Her head turned to look behind her. Scaning the area around her, she noticed that no one was there. Its just your imagantion. Snorting softly she slowly dozed off, only to awake later when a sharp scream was let loose. She looked up, and saw a black horse looking around. She watched him for a while. Not the type of horse that she liked. The preppy type, the ones that looked foward to things over than sweet death, when everything would just go away. Oh god, of course she had to be in the claiming grounds right now. Huffing, she knew what was going to happen. She would have to be claimed by this gay, dorky, preppy thing, then be forced to live with him, have his stupid kid, and then they'd all live happily ever after, hopping through a field of yellow flowers and gay bunnies. Joy. Rolling her eyes, she knew that she would be right. She looked back up and saw him coming towards her. Oh god.
They told me to cool down || I told them that I told them I was just warming up
She watched as he did his "prancy, show offy, i'm the greatest stallion in this whole world and you need to obey every word of mine or you'll be rolling on the bottom of my oh so glorious, and kingly might i add, hooves." thing. She saw that look in his eyes. They "ohmygod theres another mare that I just have to add to my herd!". She kept watching him, noticing that he was trying to catch her scent. Her ears flatened on her skull as she flashed her tail and nipped at him. He is so not going to have a fantasy about her. No wet dreams with Mask in mind. Oh goody, he finally did something right for once. He stopped a good twenty feet from her. She pounded her hind leg into the ground, snapping and curling her neck. Her ears were laid aganist her head, her tail whipping from side to side. Her front hoove scraping aganist the earth. Her right ear flickered to hear is demanding voice. Oh what an act. However, she noted how...gay he sounded. She snorted to hide her laughter. Incase you didn't notice buddy, but I don't have a penis like all your other little stallion buddies. (note the lovely remarks of sarcasm from her oh so inventive mind. yeah, right.) Once he was done with his grand speach, she took her time, and finally spoke.
"Okay Mister Gayga-I mean Aros. Sorry, a little mishap there. You know, your a one hit wonder. I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but lets just put it this way: you're worthless. And I don't want to live with you and your dumb dumb headed mares. Thanks for the offer, however."
Giving a slight kick towards his way, she turned around, her butt facing him, and troted foward a few steps. After being quiet far away from him, she halted. And turned his way. Fire danceing in her eyes. How she just loved being hated.
They told me to shut up || Then I told them that they shouldn't interrupt
ooc: she's a little hard to handel, just letting you know...also the italics are her thoughts...and bold are her words.

ooc: Don't worry, I think I might be able to survive . Same deal here about speach and thoughts. Aros tilted his head slightly at her expression. Oh, my dear, so angry. So, so angry. His eyes sparkled, laughing silently at her, but his expression remained calm. Another little bratty treat, 'eh? Why was it that so many mares strode about here with a massive chip on their shoulders, flaunting some sort of snotty attitude as if they truely could defeat a stag in combat? They could be the biggest brats in the world, for all he cared, there was no substitute for nature's grand design. Stags rule, sweetheart, and the sooner she came to accept that fact, all the better for her. He flipped his head in her dirrection, not coming closer just yet, he didn't fancy a kick across the face. His body language, opposite of hers, was relaxed and unintimidated. So many others were like her, all acting the same in the end. So tough, apparently, unless you knew how to work it just so...
Aros chuckled lightly. Gayga? What sort of a name was that? It sounded somewhat like the speach of a newborn foal, but other than that he couldn't see any use for it, nor any way it might have been as offensive as she apparently believed it was. Worthless was he? He parted his jaws to speak, but allowed her to finish with the most intelligent thing she had said yet. He could barely contain himself for an instant, so dipped his head low toward the earth in a mock bow. When it was raised, the laughter still shone in his eyes, but his voice and tone were composed.
No need to be so cruel, princess. My 'dumb dumb headed mares' as you so... elequently put it, are no competition to you. No, indeed your beauty shines like the morning sun...
His tone was openly sarcastic, 'lest she assume he was indeed praising her. Prehaps she WAS appealing to the eye, but he was going to play the game her way. If insults were what drove her on, well... give the girl what she wants.
As for my worth, well it may be lacking. Scratch that, I am indeed quite worthless. Your horrible words have peirced me to the heart, my lady. Let me die now, to save you the trouble of torturing me again.
He flicked his tail breifly, and hung his black skull as if in shame. Truley, how might she have thought that her insults were in any way painful to his pride? To denegrate this stag took more than 'dumb dumb' and 'gayga'.. whatever that meant.. but he would play along. He remained in his dejected posture only breifly, before raising his gaze to her own firery eyes once more.
If you will allow me to live a little longer sweetheart, I'll let you know something rather important. My offer is hereby resigned, and in its place: I give you a demand.
The laughter left his view suddenly, replaced with the cold anger that she herself was displaying. His body walked closer to her now, slowly.. deliberately, every step measured and powerful. His muscles slid beneath his sleek coat upon his shoulders, deleting the space between them without question. He didn't approach her head on, no- he knew she would bite, and not that he was afraid, but he would rather NOT have to fight her for now- rather, he moved to the side, half circling the fea, his eyes sliding over her body much more possesively now. He remained light on his hooves, just in case she should leap at him, but he never ceased his examination... she was sleek and powerful like he, and her color was a nice compliment to his own. Yes.. this one was fitting, though he was unsure how long it was going to take to convince her of this.

I'm strait || You're square
God he was annoying. It seemed to her that all he wanted to do was to make her part of his herd. However, she had different plans. She didn't want to go with him. He was some preppy stallion that probley only wanted kids out of her. No, that wouldn't cut it. Snapping at him, her ear was lifted to hear him speak. Princess? That was unlike Mask. Then again, he didn't know her name, so at least he didn't call her something else.... Huffing she kept her annoyed act, listening to what he was saying. Her beauty shines through like the morning sun? Oh give me a break.
"I'm not a morning person. And quit with the sarcasim...Aeros."
Her hind leg kicked out at him again, missing, just showing him that she wanted him to get back. Can't touch this. Her one and only rule. She looked up at him. He did slightly resimble her, only she was more of a deep, dark bay, then his inky black. He had a bold, white stripe on his face, and she had not markings. She had more rugged look, and he looked like some random arabian show horse that just broke free. Snapping at him, she turned away again. Only looking back to hear what he was saying. Great, now he was agreeing with her.
He told me I suck || I told him he sucked his own
Her ears still stayed aleart to hear what he was saying. She stood a good many yards away from him. She didn't like to get all touchy feely, and that was just the way it was going to be. She watched as his head was lowered. Thinking that finally he understood that she was above him, she sighed and relaxed. But then she looked over again, and saw the look in his eyes. The wanting look. Her ears were laid aganist her neck, her hind leg was raised, and left there. Her head was raised, her auds were again behind her. Her front leg was scraping aganist the earth, and her teeth were grinding aganist each other. She watched him come closer and closer. Her acts getting more violent with each pounding step. She had no admit, he wasn't bad looking. He might be a pretty boy, but he was a complete annoince, and she would no longer deal with him if she had a choice. Her leg kicked out at him once he was going around her. She knew that there was pretty much no escape, but she was better than that. Her head high up in the air, she spoke.
"Sorry hun, can't touch this. Now get away perv."
Pausing, and kicking out again, along with a few snaps, she went on.
"Don't call me sweetheart buddy. And I'm still not going with you, thanks for playing our game. Now beat it looser and go find one of your goody-two shoe mares and get a room. Oh yeah, take that 'Your mine' look off of your face. Because I'm not."
They said I was to much work || I told them they worked to hard

Watching from a spot not too far away the ebony stallion was enjoying this immensely. The taunts the mare let loose in such quick and almost thoughtless succession were not hindered by anything Aros said, and, or so it appeared Aros was retaliating in the same way..how childish.. He thought, the thought would have been amusing in itself if it were true. He knew Aros, he was no fool, witty and demanding, unkind at the best of times he was, in Azurs view anyway, which was fogged by a long nurtured hatred. If Azur knew the stag it wouldn't be long before he was demanding things of the dame. He snorted, catching the rival brutes last phrase and the vixens retorts, there it was he had given her a demand, how predictable. And once again the fatale had made a show of ignoring it completely, firing another load of insults at him. Charming.
Stepping from the foliage his expression remained neutral, he knew this mare was fiery and would most likely bombard Azur with similar taunts to those she'd used with Aros, quite frankly he cared little, he was always up for a challenge and, his pride was pretty hard to dent, let her try. Shaking his dial in amusement that he didn't have to fake chords were put to use, directed at Aros though the mare was free to listen,
Aeros? I had no knowledge of your change of name Aros, though if I may be so bold as to complement you on it... very masculine, such a name demands respect..
The czars tones were not wary in the slightest. The hatred between himself Aros and Soleil was plain for all to see, why disguise it? Azur also knew he was asking for it, though, at this point in time he cared none. Oh, he knew the situation was not unique, any mare could be stubborn if she wished it, just he'd never been there to see either Aros, or Soleil deal with one. It had been an educating experience.
Hind piston rested in a casual manner, titanium placed on its tip and whipcord remaining unused, no hatred, amusement, nor any other emotion was visible in his appearance, for the moment he was merely a spectator, injecting his opinion as he saw necessary, no doubt his pleasant viewing would come to an abrupt halt if Aros had anything to do with it. He smirked at the thought and placed the flint back to the ground, this time lifting a fore and letting it hover just above the ground, skulling remaining in a mediocre position upon curvature, pools surveying the unraveling scene with fluid intelligence.
He did not yet address the mare, from what he'd seen she had enough mouth to speak for herself. His stance remained a neutral one, he would not intervene, twas pure coincidence he'd overheard them, it wasn't as if they were being quiet. Call him nosy, if you overheard one of your sworn enemies being called 'Mister Gayga' you would be intrigued too, correct? Well, Azur was and would remain so, waiting patiently for the drama to continue now, with him joining the cast..

Aros, for his part, was amused. "I'm not a morning person. And quit with the sarcasim...Aeros." Oh, so she had caught on. Took her long enough. His face shone with amusement, while his form remained lithe, bending a smooth circle around her still, always wary of her hooves that seemed so quick to strike. Aeros? What sort of a name was that? Almost as intertaining as Gayga. He cocked his head slightly, expression openly quizical for a moment before speaking. This time, without the false kindness, for obviously open and mocking 'declarations' were not her brand of pleasent. No matter, he still had tons of fun left in his arsenal.
If you like, I'll wait here untill the afternoon. I've got all day, really.
He might have shruged, if a horse could. He intended to have her won over by much sooner than that, but it was always nice to give them hope, false or otherwise. What was it with these mares, who so apparently came to be 'claimed' as it were, behaving as if that was the exact opposite of their desires? Playing hard to get, prehaps, though it wasn't as flattering on some as it was on others. She went on: "Sorry hun, can't touch this. Now get away perv." And again he could do nothing but chuckle. Drawing his revolutions to a close, he was again standing before her, no nearer, yet no farther.
Hon, 'eh? Well now we're getting somewhere.
He flicked his tail through the air as he thought, ears training in on her next words. "Don't call me sweetheart buddy. And I'm still not going with you, thanks for playing our game. Now beat it looser and go find one of your goody-two shoe mares and get a room. Oh yeah, take that 'Your mine' look off of your face. Because I'm not." He waited longest after this, his dark eyes simply watching her... if this was the game she wanted to play, he had no qualms about it. Mind games were the funnest kind, you know, and it was rarely that he lost. He shook himself for a moment to relax his muscles, and assumed a rather more complacent posture as he replied for a third time.
Would you prefer another name? Wench seems fitting, or Doll prehaps? Don't complain if you haven't given me your own calling, when I substitute it for one of my own.
Which was strange, considering she had gotten his name wrong even AFTER he stated it for her. No matter.
Not coming, you say? It's quite allright, as I said I can wait. I'm a ... relatively patient boy. As for my mares, I think you may wish to meet them before judging them so harshly, you might well find they give you a run for your money.
He spoke neutrally, for that last statement was not exactally an exaggeration.
Prehaps you're not mine.. yet. Let us wait and see what-
But something cut him off. Something immeadeately snapped his dark attention from the mare, something most undesirable. His skull snapped around, ears taking a milisecond to ponder if they should prick to attention, or plaster rearward in aggression. He settled on a medium, back but not openly aggressive... for the moment. It was, obviously, none other than his rival Azur. Another stag he had no desire to meet was intruding on him again! He moved his form between the stag and the mare with a few measured paces, always being sure not to draw too near the bay fea, but still.. to keep the monster from his quarry. But.. something in Azur's stance was less than threatening, for now. Rather than that Soliel, who had decided to circle around as if he was some sort of predator. No, Azur seemd to be keeping his distance, at least for the moment, and Aros's posture responded with outward resentment, but not enraged aggression. Aeros? I had no knowledge of your change of name Aros, though if I may be so bold as to complement you on it... very masculine, such a name demands respect.. Aros's eyes flickered with some unreadable emotion, watching the stag for a moment. Then, without warning, he tossed his head up slightly, raising his neck, and allowing the anger to slip from his jaws (which had taken it upon themselves to tense as if in preparation for an attack). His tail swished behind, still unhappy with the presence of a stag so near, but..
Yes.. the lady makes a wonderful point, no? I had been meaning to change it, but I just couldn't decide to what.
Aros's tone was testy, for obvious reasons, but retained slightly his joking quality. Besides that, it was devoid of outward aggression.. for now. He allowed his head to turn back breifly, to check the bay's position lest she had seen this as an opportunity to either flee or attack, but kept his shapely ears trained on the intruder, for much the same reasons.

ooc: Sorry, I spelt your name wrong and didn't notice...whoops.
I'm not in a very creative mood || However it seems you are
Her eyes watched as he spoke with her. God he's annoying. Shifting her weight, she watched, bordem glowing in her eyes as he drowned on, with some movement. She had just about had it with him. He kept wanting for her to go with him. Didn't he get it that she wasn't going to go with him, no matter what he said...or did for that matter. Her head was thrown up as he kept going. Getting somewhere? Yeah...right. She snapped at him, her usual thing. Thank god for teeth. Her forlock hid her eyes, causeing her to glide right past him, as if she wasn't even aiming for him. She snorted roughly, it wasn't that big of a deal anyways. She threw her head up again, this time simpley to get her forlock out of her veiw. He did have a few things to say. Oh god, he was a just a boy. Joy. Wonderful. He was getting just a little too close, so waiting untill when he was done, talking about his mares, she troted off, heading towards a clearing. She turned back, to give him one last look, and then turned back to where she was going. She halted roughly. Another? Her crown was lifted up in surprise, and then she kicked out at him. After all, it was his fault. She watched as they started to jabber on. Jabber about her. And then that Aros dude was saying how she might be his. Never ever. Grunting, she walked back, slowly. She made sure that she was a bit away, so that they couldn't make any sort of move on her. After they were done, she opened her mouth to speak.
"God you guys could go on forever. How about this...I'll tell you my name, and you can quit with your stupid names. Its Mask. Simple and easy, unlike your weird names that make no sence, and really are stupid. The name is like the beholder. So since we now know, well, we knew before, but now we know your stupid, so you two asses can leave and go play with yourselfs. And to you, the new butt head, I'm busy tell this guy off. If you would like to attempt to get me to go with you, your welcome. But unless you are getting me a ticket out of his hell, I sujest you don't waste your time trying. Unless, you came here to claim him. Then you can go ahead and claim him. Go be queer, but not around me. Beat it, do the both of you."
They told me I need to find someone that loves them || I told them I'm going to die trying
Her legs drove her foward, first to Aros, and kicking out at him. Turning, she saw whatshisface. Giving a kick towards him, she moved further away from the both. They diserved it. They were nothing to her, and she didn't mind. But now that she was safely away, she finally had the time to look over the new one. He seemed to be somewhat like Aros. Joy twins. Well, let them crash and burn. She didn't care. Snorting, her dark bay body gleaming in the late afternoon sun, she just stood there, snickering at the two. They knew each other, she could tell. But the fact that he came down as well, it was priceless. With her ears laid back, she looked over at them.
"Unless you're willing to stop me, which I don't think you are, I'm just going to leave, okay honey buns? Or are you too scared to chase on someone that just might be better than you two. Then again, I bet there are scumbags that are better than you. It doesn't take much, really."
Smirking at the two, she again troted foward. God, she hadn't had this much fun since...the last time a stallion tried to claim her. He failed, but then got his older brother to get her. Yeah, raping wasn't Mask's thing. She hated the whole 'I love you crap' that had to do with sex, and she really didn't like the 'I want to have some fun, even though I know you don't' part of any sort of rape. She kept these thoughts hidden. She didn't want them to know her weakness. Although many used it, most didn't think it was that bad. Well, it is, so you just have to deal
They told me I was getting to into the game || I told them that they are too lazy to play

Aros snorted slightly as she trotted off. What a fool he had been, turning his attention from his mark. She aimed a few more bites at him, apparently more for the aggresison factor than anything, because she have moved away from him rather than closer to. He ignored Azur for the most part now, turning his form a quarter of the way as he pondered what he should do. Either way, frankly, he was screwed. Usually he didn't dwell on what he did or why he did it, but this situation puzzled him a bit. To remain behind was to leave the feild to the other stag, not to mention to give the annoying wench more of a reason to shoot her childish comebacks at him (though that part was a bit more amusing). Then again, if he followed she would most likely run, all the while CONTINUING with her little taunts, and forcing them to draw on the conversation. No, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, but.. he had a secret weapon. The best part about shining such an adverse personality was that... kindness became a weapon. Beat it, do the both of you." She was, quite obviously, unhappy with the dual presence. He didn't give a hoot, but it was nice to know her current state of mind.
I dare think that I'd be easier for him to claim than you're being..
He muttered, but it was barely a whisper. If any equine HAD indeed been able to hear it, 'twould only have been Azur, whom he was standing much nearer to. Though, he probably hadn't either. "Unless you're willing to stop me, which I don't think you are, I'm just going to leave, okay honey buns? Or are you too scared to chase on someone that just might be better than you two. Then again, I bet there are scumbags that are better than you. It doesn't take much, really." She continued. Obviously asking to be chased. Seriously now, Aros was arrogant, but he wasn't blind. He mulled over her words as she phrased them, when suddenly... it clicked. Or are you too scared to chase on someone that just might be better than you two.... perfect. He knew her motivation now, he only needed to act upon it.
Without further acnowlegement to the other stag, he moved off at a more extended trot toward this Mask, curving slightly so he would end up to her side, rather than before her. He wasn't circling this time, however, he had allready played that card. He stopped at length, possibly even farther from her than he had his first time, and made no move to streatch his black neck farther toward her. This was the real world, Maskie, and he wasn't about to play Mr. Nice Guy to woo her.
Listen...
He said, his voice suprisingly lacking the commanding tone it had held earlier. Now it was more of a request, and he didn't really expect her to refuse it. One ear flicked from the dirrection he had come, making sure that his rival didn't draw closer.
We stags get judged unfairly nowadays. If you're going to hate me, which you apparently are... let me earn it first.
To which he expected a sharp, acidic reply. But, this time, the raven toned brute had more to say. He dared take one solitary stride nearer to her form. Just one, all the while holding her sweet eye contact. Unusual for him, who so usually allowed his gaze to float possesively over one's form.
Forgive me, I wasn't thinking. Of course, you may control yourself, and your life is subject to your will, but...
He looked away for a moment, thinking, and holding his composure. This was suprisingly difficult for him, the usually flirty playboy losing his touch? Hah! Never. He gave himself a breif shake, and returned his attention to Mask.
..you can do this just as easily in the protection and sanctity of a herd, can you not? Come now, shall we agree to mutual acceptance? Just for now. And.. see where it goes from there...?
He felt suprisingly vunerable. It was extremely rare for him to ask anyone anything, as the loss of his guard was his rarest and deadlyest fault. In case they hadn't noticed by now, Aros wasn't very easily shaken. So, leaving himself exposed with a question was, to say the least, a dangerous move. He held himself steady, however, bodice entirely still, one ear trained on the stag, and both glistening eyes locked on to her firery expression.

You ask || I answer
Her ears flickered slightly up, listening to his pounding trot as he came closer, and closer. It hadn't been that long since she met him, even though it felt like forever. She looked over at him for the first time in a long time. His face changed for the so far usual 'you're mine' look, to something else. A look that she couldn't describe. Something she hadn't seen before. All Mask ever saw in anyone was something that wasn't that nice to deal with. She had been through a lot of stallions, most of which weren't really...nice to her. Not that she expected them to like fall in love with her. She was a normal looking mare, that made fun of every move that you made, in any sort of way. She snapped back to attention, noticing that he was right next to her, but looking at her face, not her body. Her neck rose, her ears slightly back, but she was listening. He hissed towards her, but not as a threat, more of a...plea? No, he didn't sound desprate enough. It was a...question? No. But she couldn't understand the tone he was useing. It was as if he changed in to a different person, someone that didn't know her, someone that spoke a different language, someone that wasn't use to their customs. She was aleart now, listening. Only this time, she wasn't trying to catch flaws that she could point out, she was trying to understand, she was trying to care.
You cry || I laugh
Now now, who said she hated him? She never hated anyone. She just...tested them for their whole life. Yes, that fits it. She was about to speak out loud, but she kept quiet. She would wait untill he was done, and then she would continue with her oh-so long speach. Let him earn it? He didn't have to do anything to earn it. He just had to learn. Learn something, that hopefully would make just a slight dent in his ego. And for that twin over there, he needed to learn too. And you never know, maybe she does too. Needs to learn that is. Whoa, what was she doing? She shook her head roughly, this Aros dude was getting to her. She listened to him, as he kept speaking. She watched, but her face didn't rage in anger. Only a small flame burned, one that could be blown out. After thinking for a while, she knew what she was going to say, to the both of them
"Now listen you two. I'm a mare, and I know you need mares to have a herd. But really, people like me, don't want to be shipped off to a herd, have sex, give birth, and be forgotton, untill, that is, that oh-so wonderful season, spring. You need to understand, we're the same. And untill you give me respect, and treat me how you want to be treated. That is the day I'll stop being such a bitch to you, and then possibley join your herd. I don't need to be claimed, I can live quiet well on my own. I would know. Not only have I been kicked out of my own family when I was two, but also I have escaped out of every place I don't want to be."
He told me we could make it || I told him it was already over

As the vix revealed her name he shook his poll in silent amusement, Mask was unlike their stupid names which made no sense? That in itself was a joke, how much simpler is Mask than Azur? Snorting he smirked, she was accurate in one thing, Mask had a meaning something to hide behind sprang to mind, seemed the vixens name was indeed well suited. As for the next comments, not quite so revealing perhaps yet still intriguing, how did this mares mind work? He was a butt head and he and Aros were welcome to be queer but not around her? An interesting statement to say the least. He had to admit the fatale was unique in both her speech and actions, her vocabulary varied considerably from that of the typical maiden. Harks swiveled towards Aros, waiting for the reply that would no doubt come.
A smirk curled Azur's labrums at his rivals comment, I doubt greatly Aros would be any easier to claim than her, seems he's not doing all too badly in keeping her interest.. he mused before perking his harks to catch the rest of Aros' speech, smirk straightening as he picked up on what the brute was doing. To his eyes he'd finally succeeded in gripping the femmes attention and holding onto it, bravo he thought occuli fixing on the minx and her reactions, waiting to see whether this new technique would be accepted or cast aside along with all the others.
As she replied his expression remained blank, she was indeed calming down, and, if he wasn't mistaken, opening up if they were the right words... Snorting he understood her, to a point anyway she was rebellious and wished to be accepted as an equal not a follower, fair enough. Not speaking he took a few steps back, seemed Aros was intent on claiming this mare for him own, no matter the lengths he had to go to. Stopping he let one more dose of poison spill, tone thoughtful,
You wish to join a herd of your own accord, no high and mighty stallion demanding things of you? Then I ask you Mask, you would keep up your refusals until the day a stag accepted you as his equal?
He nodded, as usual Azur was drifting, speaking to himself more than others,
I respect that.
He snorted and flicked his whipcord, expecting insults to come flying back, he was not acting, her reasons for acting how she did seemed perfectly acceptable to a degree. Turning away he began the journey back to his own lands, pausing to speak to Aros, keeping his tone calm considering he was conversing with one he had been taught to hate,
Until soon no doubt, Aros
Turning he took to leave, leave the two to their own devices now, he'd seen plenty and had his say.
